FOOD REVIEWS: THE WHALE TEA

Hi there!

Today I'd like to review about this new bubble tea chain in Singapore call The Whale Tea!

I ordered their signature Classic Brown Sugar Boba Milk tea for $5.70.

Their tea is of very good quality! I'd recommend you to order their roasted version instead of classic version which has a stronger aromatic roasted tea taste...

The brown sugar is nicely caramelized and the pearls are nice and chewy.

They currently have 5 outlets in Singapore. I'm glad I found this new bubble tea chain instead of the usual suspects like iTea, LiHo, Gong Cha and Koi...

I give their bubble tea a 8.5/10! A definite must-try!

FOOD REVIEWS: KOPI KORNER AT SUNSHINE PLACE

Hi there!

Today  wanna recommend a newly renovated cafe near my house!

And that's Kopi Korner at Choa Chu Kang!

We ordered the breakfast set $6.80 and Honey Teh-O $3.50 from a very friendly Malay staff.

Their menu also consists of muslim and western food.

The breakfast set consists of 2 sunny side-up, 2 hotdogs, 2 slices toasts and a kopi/teh of your choice!

I'd say the breakfast is really appetizing and the iced teh-o is very nice too!

I give this cafe a 8.5/10! A definite must try!

That's all!

TRAVELOGUE: BIRD PARADISE AT MANDAI

  Hi there!

Finally got the chance to go sightseeing in Singapore abit during the CNY period! Me and my sis took the opportunity to visit the new bird park at Mandai on a Sunday! It is accessible by bus 927 from CCK bus interchange(which is near my house!)... It is a 15mins bus ride away!

We are greeted by a very nice Starbucks near the entrance. And we bought tickets online for 2 adults for around $100. Better make the moolah we spent on the entry tickets worth it.

The new park is massive and nicely designed! The new park is whimsical and tourists friendly(Haha is there even such a word?) Deja Vu. We spent 3-4 hours exploring the entire park. There's a child-friendly trolley kart if your child is feeling tired which you can drag... And they have air-conditioned stops which you can rest and cool off...

They have a food court in the park and you can have something to eat while waiting for the performance!

They park is segregated into different zones. My favourite area is the penguin cove and crimson wetland! The birds are all so adorable!!!

Spent a fun day with my sis... Hope to do it again soon!

FOOD REVIEWS: LONG SEN HOKKIEN PRAWN MEE AT BUKIT GOMBAK

Hi there!

Today I'm going to review about this hidden gem at Bukit Gombak!

This hokkien mee stall is located in a coffeeshop which is a stone throw away from the MRT!

I've been patronizing coffeeshops for meals instead of going to cafes which are more expensive... Having my lunch or dinners at the coffeeshop is a cheaper alternative as I'm trying to tighten my purse-string...

Back to the food, this hokkien mee is cooked al dente. And the sambal chilli add a tangy sweetness to the noodles!

It costs $5 per plate which is considered very affordable.

It is the best hokkien mee I've tried so far in the west of Singapore.

This coffeeshop also house famous stalls selling claypot congee and prawn noodles soup!

I give their hokkien mee a 8.5/10! A definite must try!!!

FOOD REVIEWS: WAN XING NASI LEMAK AT ALBERT CENTRE MARKET AND FOOD CENTRE

Hi there!

Today I want to review about this nasi lemak stall at Bugis!

This stall has been around for quite some time in Singapore, although I'm not sure exactly when it's established (can check with the boss).

They offered a variety of choices of nasi lemak in different sets. Love love love the set that includes chicken wings and kuning fish.

They have recently renovated their stall and change up their menu abit. And they have also change their coconut rice to blue pea rice which I personally like too...

It's affordable and service is good(lesser queueing time).

I give it a 8.5/10. Best nasi lemak in town!

FOOD REVIEWS: TAI SENG FISH SOUP AT TAMAN JURONG FOOD CENTRE

Hi there!

Today I want to recommend a stall which I frequent often selling sliced fish soup.

This Michelin awarded stall is established more than 50 years ago as a street stall.

The soup is clear and sweet. The fish slices are tender and fresh.

The sliced fish soup plus a bowl of rice are price at $6 which is considered affordable.

They do give a generous amount of cabbages and chye sim.

I give this sliced fish soup stall a 8.5/10. A definite must-try!

FOOD REVIEWS: SENG HUAT MUSHROOM MINCED MEAT NOODLES

Hi there!

Today I'd like to review this Bak Chor Mee stall at Choa Chu Kang!

Established more than 20 years ago at CCK, this BCM stall has been a fave amongst the residents of CCK!

Their BCM is selling for $4.50 per bowl and it comes with a bowl of yummy BCM soup.

They do give a generous portions of minced pork and chinese mushrooms!

If you do not like spicy noodles, the tomato-based BCM is just as good!

This BCM stall opens 24 hours a day, so do hop on down for a delicious bowl of BCM if you're having any late night cravings!

I give their BCM a 8.5/10! A definite must try!
